The Unitarian Universalist Church has called The Reverend Daniel Charles "Charlie" Davis to be our new minister, and he started on September 1, 2010, giving his first service on Sept.5, 2010.
On Sunday, May 2nd, at a Congregational Meeting, the congregation voted 102 to 3 to call Rev. Davis as our new minister, and he has accepted. He will start as our minister in September. Our thanks to Rev. Marlene Walker, who has ably helped guide the congregation through the period of transition, and left a better organized, forward-looking church as her welcoming gift to Rev. Davis.
Thanks also to the Ministerial Search Committee, who worked tirelessly for a year and a half to make this process work, not just to find a new minister, but to include the hopes and wishes of all the congregation in their search criteria. A couple of rounds of applause at the meeting was nice, but if you can, be sure to thank them personally as well; it was an arduous task they accepted, and they have carried it off successfully to the benefit of our church.
Welcome to the Reverend Davis!
